Project Summary This project was constructed using the Design/Build format. We were contracted to coordinate the design and construction of a new 6,500 sf retail center at 5655 E. Pickard in Mt. Pleasant, MI. This center was built on a site that previously had a building that was a service station which was later converted to a Dunkin Donuts and convenience Store which we had demolished. Some of the unique features for this site which required special attentions was the asbestos abatement had to be performed before the demolishing could be commenced. The site was also limited in size which required underground storm water retention. We provided an alternative design and value engineering for the storm water system and was able to save the owner over twenty thousand dollars in construction cost and was able to accelerate the project schedule. The completed site is currently home of Starbucks, Borics, Sprint and there is one vacant tenant space available for lease. Our services also included construction staking, quality control, testing, construction management and coordinating the design of the site utilities in conjunction with Consumers Energy, Union Township, and the City of Mt. Pleasant.
